Hungarian (Gypsy) origin?

-My dad is 100% Hungarian-gypsy & even tho it is considered "white" my father has Asian eyes, is very very dark (almost black complexion), long curly black hair & he has a BIG hooked nose which has people mistake him for middle eastern half the time. My father has no connection to his family so we know nothing really. My sisters & I always get told we do not look Hungarian but Persian, by our fair skinned Hungarian friends. My question is, what is Hungarian-gypsy exactly? Are they really Hungarian?Real gypsys are originally Indians who settled in place like Romania and Hungary. If your dad is Hungarian gypsy, he is Hungarian from a gypsy background.
